This small Hindu temple or “Mandhir” is designed to evoke a perception of humble majesty and is built entirely in white baked finish wood and marble using contemporary neo-classical European and Indian style elements. The design drawings were completely hand-drawn (with many elements constructed based primarily on free-hand drawn sketches), and construction was completed over a very short period of just 27 days. A 600 sq. ft. apartment in Hong Kong fitted-out primarily in wood. As with most apartments in Hong Kong, this 2 bedroom residence is pretty compact. Per the owner’s requirement, the entire design was executed in Canadian maple and colored glass for the walls, with Chinese slate and proprietary wood floors, and stainless steel kitchen top. Complete with under-floor heating and ‘intelligent glass’ sliding doors , all furniture including beds, are completely built-in with concealed wall compartments and storage throughout. […]
